It was with sadness that I bid the Subaru wrx Sti goodbye ( the best car I have ever had) and welcomed this!
"This" is a Mitsubishi Evolution 9.. All wheel drive, fitted with a turbo 2.0 litre engine and six speed gearbox, and a wonderful computer that allows it to be all wheel drive, rear wheel drive, front wheel drive or even just a one wheel drive. This one is fitted with the optional race brakes.. which pull it up on a sixpence.

Its quick. I mean very... make no mistake it can keep up with a Lamborghini . and is a delight to drive.

I shall miss the Subaru. Amazing car, but I am looking forward to getting to know this one... yea, I know......small things amuse... but hey.. I am not shy (smile)

  6. Hey Laura- yes the hatch back is a very capable and great car. even in the non WRX version. The only issue is- if you fit an aftermarket exhaust, it tends to "boom" in the cabin, especially at freeway speed.

    thanks for dropping by!

  7. hey simon

i really like the wrx version, but i want it with sunroof and 5 speed. seems like that is difficult to find in a newish but slightly used condition.
then, colour is critical. im picky. hehe
thx for the advice on the exhaust. no telling what my son would hav me do to it. his car is sweet and he knows alot, so i usually trust him (deisel mechanic)
the new one you ve got is pretty sexy, i must admit.
    cheers

  8. Oh, when I saw this I thought that one of your daughters had given you a grandchild. But it's only a car. I hope it's functional and fit for purpose. Could you get a pig in the boot?

  9. Laura- Canada! Woah!.... yes, well, you could get a Subaru WRX but not an STi. They make a model called a "club spec". They have leather seats, sunroof and you can get them in good colors. I think different alloy wheels too and a better stereo. I like them in blue. Its a nice up market vehicle and does not compromise the power etc :0)

Jim- LOL!! No you cannot get a pig in the boot but I have the Landcruiser for that. WHat you have to understand is that these vehicles are very safe, sure footed and economical. ( never mind the blistering perfromance)... you should U tube Top gear and watch the Evo 9 road test.. awsome.!

See you in a few weeks!!

  11. Congrats! New cars are always fun. I hear that Subarus have the highest rate of return buyers. Why didn't you get one of those again?

  12. well, I work as an auctioneer in the car industry, so I can buy value pretty much all the time. if I was going to buy a car for me, i.e. one to keep I would buy a subaru. I only lost $2000 in a year on the sub, and will do the same on the evo. So with no repayments etc ..its cheap motoring..
